I was teasing him a bit at first, because I could totally see him failing to apologize or clear it up with the landlord at all--it was an accident, why in the world should he apologize for something that was clearly not his fault, I could see his mindset being. I hope I didn't contribute to the problem.
Some people clearly have waaaaaay too much time on their hands. Not to mention a strange idea of what constitutes "their business" vs. "your business". I hope things calm down for both of you.
