Holy fuck - it's not as if his dislike of red is a SECRET or anything! There's a line between funny and sadistic, and that goes way over.
Sherlock has such a reputation for being difficult, but if people remembered a few simple little things that are obvious even to an LJ acquaintance, he would be a lot less so.
1. No red, and there's no point trying to reason or kid him out of it. 2. Taking Sherlock to a pub or other situation centered on alcohol is like taking a cat to a water-slide park. 3. Keep confidential information confidential. 4. He tends to be fairly open and clear about what he doesn't like or want. Why not go along with that?
