Been a few days since I posted. Sorry about that, there's a lot going on.

Signed the paperwork on the new place. Did I mention that? I might have done. It was a while ago, and I can't remember.

Went out to have drinks with Sarah for the first time in, oh god. I don't even know. Does forever count? I'm saying forever. It felt that way. Anyway, that was a lot of fun. Had some drinks, talked a bit. Possibly planned a trip to Paris after S and I are done moving. I also may have forgotten to bring that up with him. My mind is sort of fried right now.

NEWS ON THE MISSING DOG: It was in my basement. S put it there. In one of his lapses of judgement, he thought he was doing Bill a favour by bringing the dog home. Apparently it got out, and is the size of a horse, so S had no real way of putting it back in. It's probably what I would have done as well, but with the added step of letting Bill know what had happened. But the dog is safe and Bill and Millie are happy.

Pub quiz tonight. Just waiting on Bill to get over here, as usual. More on that later.

I also may have gone to see Harry Potter with Amanda and her son. Shut up, I like it.

Progress!

We signed the paperwork on the new place today. I think we'll probably start moving this weekend, and just take our time with it, and then use our notice period to clean up this place and attempt to get my deposit back. I'll make sure everyone gets the new address sometime this week.

Also, Mary stopped by yesterday. OK, she came by because I asked her to. We talked and things are good. Like most things, everything that happened over the weekend was just the result of a massive communication breakdown. Apologies have been made, but it may still take a while for everything to completely calm down.

On the Minecraft front, I took his laptop cord away. He bought a new one and has now taken to hiding. So, I give up. He'll get bored and/or pass out eventually. I hope.

I had to put out a few fires today, but that nothing new to the point that it's becoming tedious. It was also one of those days at the surgery. You know the sort. Every sort of 'worst patient' imaginable (yes, even the one I 'treated' over the phone. You know who you are) came through my door today. I thought the day would never end. I think the only way today could have been worse is if I were still in A+E.

But I also come with good news! I think we may have found a flat (thanks, Millie)! S didn't come with to look at it, so it's still in the 'I think' stages. He was too busy trying to convince me (via text, no less) that his wrist had actually been shattered and that the X-Ray and the MRI he had done were wrong. So, he stayed home to get into trouble while I talked to the guy letting the flat. He seems nice. Not like the sort to install secret hidden cameras or anything.

I mentioned S got into trouble. That's the bit you're all wanting to hear, I know. Well, let's just say this: if a certain hair removal product says on its packaging to avoid contact with some rather sensitive areas of one's body, it's a good idea to do as it says (for those wondering, it belonged to an ex, and was left here). But while S doesn't really have a whole lot of body hair to begin with, he now has a lot less. I'm contemplating showing him how to use the PS3, just for something to keep him occupied, but I worry that doing so may just end up in me never seeing him again.

Stuff happened today. Some stuff I won't talk about, because it's not mine to discuss, and some I will talk about, because it happened in my flat.

The long and short of it is that S wound up a bit upset today, so [livejournal.com profile] mscontrarymary offered to stop by to check on him while I was at the surgery. I got home a bit after that, to find everything in the flat in a pile in the sitting room, S on the sofa with some ice cream, and Mary on a chair, trying to mop the ceiling.

What do you people get up to when I'm not around!? How was that even... I don't know. I don't want to know.

Mary left shortly after that, so S and I (mostly me, actually) cleaned up the front room. The good news: We are mostly packed now, so moving should be easy! It didn't make much sense to put everything back just to put it all in boxes in a few weeks anyway. So S helped us in that regard. He seemed quite pleased to hear that, which always makes me happy.

I also want to say, but never got the chance, that I appreciate everybody who commented to S' recent entries on his journal. I know he doesn't really know how to show it, but he does appreciate what was said. We both do. <3

The flat was great. Affordable, good size, good location, no dubious neighbours.

Just a dubious landlord. When a guy keeps asking if you like having your picture taken, it begins to seem very unwise to move into the flat he's trying to rent out.

In better news, the people from holmeschat seem to have finally stopped coming round. We're still moving, though. All it really means is that they've grown a bit bored, but I don't trust them not to come back.

Nothing exciting to report on the flat-hunting front. Made a few calls today, but it wound up just being a bunch of dead ends. We've started to branch out a bit and begun looking around the other side of Regents Park. It's a bit further away from the surgery than I'd like, but everything's coming up noughts over on this end.

I have a brand new respect for the first episode of Spaced.

Also, sorry to anyone going, but I won't be at Mary's for the watching party tonight. Things came up and I'm needed at home.
