Well

Had an interesting day yesterday. Didn't even get a chance to get online, it was that sort of day.

Woke up to S in a rare clingy mood, which I took advantage of until going to work. And then I was plagued by a never-ending stream of texts. He's been going a bit stir-crazy with all the stuff going on lately, and going out hasn't exactly been safe. At least he has a new book to read at least, which he seems to be enjoying (I guess this means you won the bet, Mary).

I finally met his brother yesterday. Not [livejournal.com profile] my_croft, but the other one. [livejournal.com profile] spelt_with_a_g. Yesterday was a bit of a big deal for S, so we got taken out for dinner. Place was a bit posh and not the sort of place I'll ever really look like I belong, but I think they must go there fairly often because they let S in wearing a t-shirt. Well, not just a t-shirt. He had a nice jacket on over it, but still. He's such a brat.

Anyway, dinner was nice. It's good to see that S has someone else he gets on with. And get on they do. So I guess that's less to be worried about. Now I can stay focused on the new stain I found on the carpet this morning. What is bright blue, oily, and smears about when you try to clean it up? Because I tried, and only made a bigger mess. D:

But [Bad username or site: cons_detective title=consulting_detective @ livejournal.com] has posted another wonderful bit of artwork. This one for [livejournal.com profile] holmestice.

Stuff happened today. Some stuff I won't talk about, because it's not mine to discuss, and some I will talk about, because it happened in my flat.

The long and short of it is that S wound up a bit upset today, so [livejournal.com profile] mscontrarymary offered to stop by to check on him while I was at the surgery. I got home a bit after that, to find everything in the flat in a pile in the sitting room, S on the sofa with some ice cream, and Mary on a chair, trying to mop the ceiling.

What do you people get up to when I'm not around!? How was that even... I don't know. I don't want to know.

Mary left shortly after that, so S and I (mostly me, actually) cleaned up the front room. The good news: We are mostly packed now, so moving should be easy! It didn't make much sense to put everything back just to put it all in boxes in a few weeks anyway. So S helped us in that regard. He seemed quite pleased to hear that, which always makes me happy.

I also want to say, but never got the chance, that I appreciate everybody who commented to S' recent entries on his journal. I know he doesn't really know how to show it, but he does appreciate what was said. We both do. <3

Things have finally started to get a bit bearable. We ordered some Chnese a few hours ago, but S never really touched his. He ate some of the noodles, and then declared it ‘too blue-tasting,’ whatever the hell that means. He’s really bringing out the doctor in me, because whenever he does this, I can’t help but start to get worried. Maybe I’ll have to just find a very large recipe book and go through everything in it just to see what he does like. So far, the list of things I’ve found that he’ll eat unconditionally include custard creams, certain flavours of Walkers Crisps, and oranges. Everything else is fussed over or flat out refused. I don’t get it.

Right now, I’m watching him paint a pair of old shoes. My old shoes, actually, but I haven’t worn them for a while, so I don’t really care. They’re starting to look kind of cool. I may have to post pictures when he’s done.

Saturday is still on. Just don’t expect S to be very social. I think he’s a little put off at the idea of meeting new people right now.
jumperfucker: (WTF)
After I got home from trying, and apparently failing, to drop some soup off for [livejournal.com profile] salts_theway, I came home and attempted to remain functional. This plan failed rather badly and S and I wound up kipping on the sofa for a bit. I think I woke up around 2pm or so, and just sort of camped out there for a few hours until S lef to go do whatever it is he does when he wanders off.

Ooooor that was the plan. Apparently when S left, he took my cane with him. You know. The one [community profile] whochat ridiculed me for needing to walk? I don't know where he went with my cane, and still covered in that pink shit, but wherever it was, it was not here. Eventually, Mary came over to at least help me to my feet (wow, hungover sleep on a sofa is not very good on already knackered joints, as it turns out) so I could at least change into something resembling pyjamas and do the brushing of the teeth and all that. After that, we hung out on the sofa with a DVD in until I don't know when. I passed out. I just remember waking up to S banging around like a mad git until he eventually drove Mary away.

That was around 5am this morning. After that, though, he helped me back to the bedroom and we at least managed to get a few hours of proper sleep until I just couldn't sleep any more. I found my cane waiting for me in its usual spot by the bed, where it hadn't been the night before (he still won't tell me what he was up to), and left him back there while I did my morning thing (baking soda's not working very well, btw).

I just dropped him off over at [personal profile] storm_ford's place to do a bit of his art thing. I'm sort of wondering if it was a

Just got a text as I was writing that. He says he got bit by a dog. WTF? How do you get bit by a dog when you're talking about different shades of white?

ETA: Only my boyfriend could get bitten by Dog 1, I swear. He wasn't even doing anything. Just standing there, apparently. And the dog just bit him right on the ankle. Mike brought him home and he's having a sulk on the sofa now. At least he's in one piece, even if not the same piece I left him in.

Paint

In my hair. That's what I have right now. But it's not friendly paint. No. This paint turns to cement when you try to wash it out.

ETA: He's saying it's not paint. It's enamel. Is there even a difference???

So, things

Things are much better. I have a boyfriend napping next to me on the sofa, and plans to go see Frankenstein at the National next week.

I'm a bit tired, because things have been a bit weird. I was woken up around two o'clock this morning by S tapping furiously at my laptop keyboard. I thought he was gonna break it. Instead, he was just pissing off people in #221bbaker.

He left around 4am to go do god knows what, and came home a few hours later with a pig's head, with the intent to tattoo the ears. I didn't even know he had the kit for it, but he seems to know what he's doing. I'd post pictures, but I don't know what he's done with the head now. But he did clean it up, so that's fine. At least it's not staring at me any more.

Also in chat, I ran into an old girlfriend, [livejournal.com profile] mscontrarymary. We dated for a few years before I joined the army, and she went off to travel. She's back now, and looking to get into fandom. Please be nice to her.

S and I went out for breakfast, because we were bored and I couldn't be arsed to cook anything. I think the pig head was putting me off. I don't think we're allowed back at that restaurant any more, though. The owner didn't take too kindly to S drawing on the table with a Sharpie. You'd think he'd know better, but I guess not.

And now this entry has come full circle. I've still got a few days off before Sarah marks me available to come in again. But that's good, because I think I still need a few days to recover.
jumperfucker: (Obey)
Day off today, so my plans include a whole lot of nothing. I might have a quiet evening in with Jude Law's moustache and a curry, unless someone can think of something better to do.

In proper news, my sister in law got a Deviant Art account yesterday. Go check it out. She's really good.

If you invite a [livejournal.com profile] cons_detective over for lunch, he'll want to look through the contents of your DVR.

If he looks through the contents of your DVR, he'll want to watch Doctor Who.

If you let him watch Doctor Who, he'll want to start from the beginning of the most recent series.

If you watch the most recent series from the beginning, he'll want to set up camp on your sofa.

If you let him set up camp on your sofa, you'll soon find it covered in laptop and various other computer parts.

If you let him put his laptop and various other computer parts all over the place, he'll assume that it's his area and eventually fall asleep there.

If you let him fall asleep on your sofa, he'll expect tea and breakfast in the morning.

If you serve him tea and breakfast he'll want to look through the contents of your DVR*...

This is how I came home from work to find a certain [livejournal.com profile] cons_detective still in my flat. Not that I mind. It's just not exactly the sort of thing that happens every day. I don't know what he spent all day doing, but I found him asleep on the sofa in the exact same position I found him when I got up this morning. I think that's all he does is draw and sleep.

*I think he actually went through my DVDs while I was gone. That, or he put them all on the floor for no good reason, which also sounds very likely.

1. Premier date has been announced. June 11th! YAY!

2. It's going to be six episodes long, split into two parts, with the second half starting sometime in November. WTF BBC? Why are you doing this? First Doctor Who and now the Holmes adaptation. What's the point!?

3. I've just learned that one of the League of Gentlemen is a writer. ...Not sure if want. Then again, he writes for Doctor Who on occasion, so maybe it's a good thing. I can't tell. Now all I can think is that Mrs Hudson is going to be in blackface and call everyone Dave.

4. The more I hear about this, the more I can't wait, regardless of the points that make me nervous. I don't necessarily trust Moffat, but I trust his abilities, if that makes sense.

Speaking of Doctor Who, [livejournal.com profile] cons_detective came over yesterday and we got him caught up on the current series. When he gets going on a project, he'll lose entire days, so he tends to miss a lot of stuff. He never seems to know the day or date. That's why his artwork is so amazing though. He'll spend hours on it without realising how long he's spent.

He was doing some drawing last night on his laptop and did a wonderful portrait of Matt Smith. Or the Doctor. They're sort of the same person, really. But go take a look at it. One of these days, I'm going to commission him for something. I just have to decide what. It'll have to wait until later though, because right now, he's taking up my entire sofa and drooling on it. Which he will deny as soon as he reads this post.

Potential spoilers in comments, as always.
