Day off today, so my plans include a whole lot of nothing. I might have a quiet evening in with Jude Law's moustache and a curry, unless someone can think of something better to do.

In proper news, my sister in law got a Deviant Art account yesterday. Go check it out. She's really good.

Freudian slip much, John?

I've not been to bed yet.

What are the rules for re-doing the wallpapering in one's flat?

If you just want the mustache, can I have the rest of him?

...no, I lie, it's the fandom peer pressure. That mustache is the only thing remotely interesting to me about Jude Law. I don't think I could have gotten through the movie without it. Even though I love Robert Downey, Jr. (I do love him. Just as Robert Downey, Jr., or Iron Man. Not as Sherlock Holmes.)

THANK YOU

That man had no business playing Holmes. And if you can convince John of this certain fact, you're a better man than I.

It's completely terrible. The spam filter must pick things at random.

I literally facepalmed when I saw he'd been cast. And he's a brilliant actor. He just...well, you can't describe it. And I'm afraid you can't persuade other people of it. Either you SEE why he was so incredibly wrong, or you don't.

Your userpic sums up my reaction when I heard the casting news. At least they had enough brain cells to cast Stephen Fry as Mycroft, but I doubt that will even come close to saving the next film.

I liked the physicality of Downey's Holmes - the boxing; the scene at the beginning where he runs through his planned strikes in his mind, then we see it in action. Also the joking in the prison yard.

But, RDJ always struck me more as Sherlock's little brother (little in both small size and younger maturity level) than Sherlock Holmes himself.

I never said I didn't like it! Who could not like Jude Law in his 'stache? It was like RDJ was cast purposely to make Jude look particularly HOT! :DDD

Plus, steampunk FTW!

I feel like I should feel bad for liking it but no. It was a fun movie and haters gonna hate!

It's a fun one nevertheless! Although I have to go to work now, so can't stick around and listen to what I'm sure are perfectly valid reasons why you think he was a good choice. *g*

Re above, please don't let [livejournal.com profile] cons_detective stay bored for too long. I am afraid of what might happen to innocent bystanders. Or innocent fic writers.

Assaulted once today already?! All right, SPILL!

Did he ruin the wallpaper without asking? :-)

BTW, in my experience, if you tell a landlord that you would like to redo the wallpapering (or repaint, or put in new carpet, or generally make any improvement) they will be VERY HAPPY, and often even pay for materials if you provide the labour.

And you don't have to tell them you are making a collage of maps and newspapers and whatnot on the wall first, before you re-paper it when you leave :-)

Coming off that honeymoon high, but so far so good. We're definitely getting better at the whole communication thing.

How're things with you and your bloke?
