Thanks to everyone who sent their concern last night. Things got a bit crazy for a bit, but I think he's doing better. He's playing his computer game right now, so at least he's focused on something else, which is good
For a bit of clarification, Sherlock just absolutely hates the colour red. I'm not sure what it is about it, but it just gets to him. I don't mean that he won't look at it. He just won't eat anything red (which is a fair amount of things, when you think about it). What caused the problem last night was that Mary had done something to his mouthwash that had turned everything in his mouth red, and he didn't notice because the bottle's opaque. When he did notice, the first thing he reached for was the mouthwash, naturally, which didn't help at all.
Especially after last night, I'm sort of tempted to desensitise him a bit. I know it can be done, but it's difficult and I'm wondering if he's not too old for it to properly work. But it's all up to him anyway. Forcing the issue would only make it worse.
In other news, apparently we're going to Chipping Norton today for a birthday that I've only just been told about. So I guess I'll go get ready for that.
ETA: Oh. I'm meeting the parents today. Thanks for the warning, you brat.
