Yes, things are much better. [livejournal.com profile] cons_detective is napping on the sofa with his feet in my lap and has calmed down a lot since this morning.

But man, I'm telling you. Waking up to a kettle being thrown across the kitchen is not good for PTSD. So I woke up in a bad mood because he was in a bad mood, and I may have come off a bit more harsh than I'd meant to in my post this morning. Add to that I didn't get my tea because the kettle had broken when it knocked the drying rack for the dishes off the counter, and no-one was happy.

Again, and I don't think I said this enough last time, thank you to those who were trying to be comforting to him yesterday. I think it does help him to know that not everyone out there dislikes him, even if he doesn't quite know what to do with that information.

This is the point where my friend would start extolling the virtues of her stovetop kettle, where you just need a stove, but I live in a dorm room and who wants to go all the way to the kitchen when you want a cup of tea?

Mail-order one? That's what I did last time.

I was about to suggest putting a jam funnel in your teapot, and then I remembered that not everyone makes jam on a regular basis.

You could also use a regular funnel, I suppose. Although I feel I should point out that sciencey people LOVE funnels and use them for...strange purposes sometimes. (coughMEcoughcoughPROBABLY ALSO CONS_DETECTIVEcoughcough)

Also, as it turns out, you cannot brew looseleaf tea in a paper towel pouch.

...miiiiight want to autoclave them, if you want to use them for kitchen purposes. Though if they're plastic, that will probably melt them.

I feel I should point out that you can actually improvise quite a serviceable funnel out of aluminum (aluminium for you, I suppose) foil. Not that I learned this from running out of funnels. Or anything.

Excellent idea. Good luck!

(Apparently LJ ate my last comment; considering it was rather semicoherent, it's probably just as well. I'm off to bed, as it's nearly 0100 where I am now...)
