I now have a [livejournal.com profile] cons_detective living with me. I’d never been over to his flat before, and I think I realise why now. There wasn’t any room for a second person. I don’t think there was any room for him. It’s no wonder he was always coming over here.

Not that I mind. But it’s been like a full-size game of Tetris, trying to get all of his stuff to fit around mine and still leave room to move. I’m going to talk to the landlord in the morning about seeing if we can use the shed for some of the stuff that won’t get moisture damaged. Which is, thankfully, most of S’s stuff, I think.

And then it wasn’t made any easier with him checking his email on his phone every five minutes. *eye roll*

I found a seal vertebra on the beach once. Can't attest to the provenance of any of the human bones, I'm afraid...

That's pretty cool actually. All I ever find at the beach is shells, sea glass, and used needles.

Well, I did happen to be on a nature preserve beach at the time...probably wasn't supposed to take it, come to think of it, but it didn't occur to me to think of it like that because I grew up across the canal from it and had been there a dozen times.

Last time we stayed at the beach we found two seals, one dead, one dying. We were instructed to leave them alone.

No seal steaks and seal-fur capes for us :(

Aww.

Mine's just a vertebra. I have no idea how long it had been on the beach. consulting_detective could probably tell me.

I might have been able to were it still on the beach. As it is, any indications that might have been present would have been completely destroyed by now.

Fair enough. I kept it because there wasn't any flesh on it at all. Going by the edges of it, it had been in the water a while, but not long enough to wear through to the marrow anywhere. But the currents aren't super strong where I was, so...eh.
